A success story of cooperation and innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fish wholesaler Snoek, based in Urk<\/strong>, the Netherlands, is a company known for its passion for fish processing and its commitment to the highest quality and service. The company processes a wide range of fish species and has a personalised approach that makes them a reliable player in the fish industry. An important milestone in their growth story was the partnership with Cretel, as a renowned manufacturer of fish processing machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meeting at Seafood Barcelona 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first acquaintance between fish wholesaler Snoek and Cretel took place during the Seafood Barcelona <\/strong>2023 exhibition. Teunis Snoek, the owner, visited the fair together with his brother. At that time, Teunis was having problems with his current fish skinning machine of a different brand, mainly because of the high fat content of the fish. Searching for a solution, they came to Cretel’s stand, where Johan Timmerman gave a demonstration of the new F460A<\/a> fish skinning machine. The machine impressed with its robustness, ergonomics, user-friendliness, high hygiene level and low maintenance requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test period and implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the fair, Teunis had the opportunity to test the F460A extensively with different fish species. Johan Timmerman and fellow engineer Jens Ysebie travelled to Urk several times to support Teunis and explain the machine. After a test period of about a month, Teunis was convinced of the quality of the F460A and decided to buy the machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjustments and optimisations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fish wholesaler Snoek focuses mainly on kingfish, a fish species with a high fat content. This required some adjustments to the F460A, such as the roller and the type of blade. Teunis experimented with the machine himself and had the patience to discover what worked best. The collaboration <\/strong>between Teunis and Johan resulted in a new roller with more grip and adjustments to the width of the conveyor belts to prevent tearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results and Efficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a year in operation, the F460A has significantly increased fish wholesaler Snoek’s efficiency<\/strong>. The machine can now process 1000 kg of fillets per hour, compared to its previous capacity of 200 kg per hour, spread over two machines with a lot of manual work. Between 30 and 40 tonnes of fish are now processed weekly, sometimes rising to 60 tonnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Satisfaction and future plans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teunis Snoek is very satisfied with the F460A, especially because the machine can handle many types of fish and parts can be replaced quickly. For example, he can replace a blade of a different width in less than 2 minutes. During his visit to Seafood Barcelona this year, he shared his knowledge of machine settings with Johan, which further strengthened the cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
